Last month, in response to the rise of discussions about the Gaza genocide within my local community, a group called Shalom Humboldt published a series of assertions.
Rainer, thank you for your ongoing due diligence in uplifting the plights of the Palestinian people. The white supremacist colony of Israel serves its function well as the US state's proxy in the Middle East - a baton we took from the UK. Thanks to excellent reporting by folks such as yourself, we see through the lies of the Zionist machine.
I think you're rebuttal of the Arab-Israelis point was a bit weak. This is probably one of the strongest arguments Zionist use to dupe most westerners into supporting Liberal Zionism. Especially in the US where people are primed to make assumptions because of our experience with the end of Jim Crow, racial integration, and the progress of civil rights. Many assume because Israel doesn't have codified discrimination it must treat it's minorities in a similar fashion to America.
Liberal Zionist of course rely on these assumptions while deliberately leaving out key context such as rampant discrimination. Arab-Israeli's suffer discrimination at the hands of private forces, very similarly to the way racist in America would deny jobs, rentals, loans, etc to African Americans post Jim Crow. Technically the state is not intervening to do the discrimination, individuals are doing it themselves. Also various laws are deliberately crafted to obfuscate legal discrimination, such as anti domestic interfaith and anti domestic homosexual marriage laws. Technically a couple could just get married abroad and come back for the state to recognize it, the technicality is so mind bogglingly stupid most normal people don't even believe it on first presentation, they just assume Israel must not have these issues.
Which is why it's important the myth of humane treatment of Arab-Israelis needs to be eviscerated. It's such an intoxicating argument, the Israeli state and Zionist know this, they also know it takes quite a bit of knowledge for individuals to reject this hasbara propaganda. Combined with a lack of information about domestic issues in Israel, most westerners just assume it must be like their home nation, or at least similar enough even with the truth is the opposite.
Otherwise very good, well cited. River to Sea, Palestine Shall be Free.
I’ve added in this part: “This class aspect connects to the other part of the racial inequality, which is individual discrimination. Like in the United States during the Jim Crow era, much of the racial targeting comes from private institutions, which are enabled to deny minorities access to employment opportunities, bank loans, and the ability to marry.”
I got confused at first about why you think it was weak, but now I understand better. I actually do think you can argue the discrimination is codified, and that’s the idea I relied on. In future arguments, I will also discuss the types of individual discrimination you’ve talked about.

Excellent analysis. You can see Justin Trudeau's empty head blurting out Humboldt talking points.

Your writing is always very strong and your voice is clear, cutting through the noise, but this piece in particular is especially high-caliber.
I believe yours is one of those pens, which the proverb states. is mightier than the sword.
How long have I been following you Rainer? Years. I'm so proud of you, sticking to the truth as you do. Thank you
