With the geopolitical escalations of the last year or so, a crisis within the left has been exposed. This is its crisis of impotence. Because “the left,” as we know it, is not capable of winning power for the working class, and isn’t interested in gaining that capability. There is an alternative to this ineffectual element, this has been shown by all of history’s successful proletarian revolutions. That alternative is Marxism-Leninism, the scientific model through which we can analyze our conditions and take the ruling class out of power.
That someone embraces abortion and does not pitchfork others for their choice of sexual partner does not make them a leftist. Particularly when they simultaneously embrace rampant materialism and neocolonialism. Which is how they end up steeped in the mind-control machine called “social media”. They may say they are open-minded while entrenching colonialism and imperalism by embracing the false identity of “whiteness”.
What is “environmentalism”?
That someone talks about the environment as being valuable and worth preserving does not mean they understand sustainability. Particularly when they are the same ones doing their best to financially value and privatise the commons for themselves, and when they talk the language of zero sum, “energy security” etc - and they care little about people other than lip-service.
The current state of capitalism is that most societies are so lopsided that what are in fact a bunch of right wing reactionaries, have LONG called themselves left wingers or environmentalists. And people believe them.
It’s very easy to end up boxing these shadows. There are very few left wingers in these societies, after decades of capitalist brain washing. If you fancy a punchup with leftists, rather than focusing on right wingers, you may find yourself fighting the people you probably should leave alone.
