I call the hoaxes explored here the foundational modern anti-Chinese myths because since I wrote this reblogged essay four years ago, they’ve provided the ideological basis for all the new lies imperialism’s narrative managers have added on. The ideas that China has been violating Taiwan’s “sovereignty,” committing atrocities against LGBT people, and providing weapons to Russia are all only believable if one already accepts the assertions that preceded them. Since Washington’s sanctions on Russia have failed to destabilize Eurasia, China at this point isn’t in danger of being destroyed. But combating the psyops against it is still crucial for revolution in the imperial center, since the people won’t embrace socialism if they continue to associate it with the crimes socialist China has been falsely accused of. And breaking imperialism’s narrative control is a vital step towards rendering the imperial state vulnerable to internal revolt.

If you dig a bit you’ll find that the Uighur claims, repeated mindlessly by the media, stem mainly from supposed analysis by one NGO/consultancy with vague funding sources and led by someone who if you look at their publicly available bio is obviously an officer of one of the three letter agencies, but now placed out to do disinformation as a “civilian”. Similar with some of the staff members that are publicly known.

Another clear and thorough discussion. Excellent and thank you.
