There’s an incurable detachment between the reality of the global class struggle, and the illusory view of the world that America’s “left” is always going to cling to.
In the EU and Belgium, the situation is almost as dramatic among the "left" and many "communist parties". Most of them do not contest anti-communism, almost all of them campaign against Stalin and "Stalinism", vehemently condemning the Soviet Union. Almost none support armed resistance like the Farc, the NPA in the Philippines or Hebollah. They only support "the two-state solution Palestine-Israel" etc.... Trust in parliamentatism is absolute. What is emulated is "electoral success". Everyone here supports "the democrats in the US" (after Obama now AOC. All think "the world is doing badly" because imperialism is going backwards. The real communists think "the world (especially the South) is erp going forward". In Belgium, Ludo Martens' WPB has become a revisionist party since about 2011. They have literally liquidated their past. With some communists, we are working a new communist movement in Belgium.
