Really appreciate all of your work and writing, Rainer. Here in Canada it has been quite surreal to watch the majority of our "progressive" political movements either become co-opted or paralyzed as a result of the proxy war. For the most part there is a deafening silence within this country when it comes to examining our relationship to the US, but in my day-to-day conversations I find that many share the materialist understanding of what is happening although it may be vague and subject to misinformation.
Hi Rainer, I love your content. I read every single article you publish and I recently pledged my support to your substack. I agree with so much of today’s article but I disagree with your assessment of Maupin. The imperialists frequently use sexual blackmail against anti-imperialists. They did it to Ritter. I believe they set the same trap for Maupin. I am not familiar with Haz. I occasionally listen to Jackson but sadly he’s fallen into clickbait versus true worker organization. Maupin is still organizing and fighting for the working class. I believe in second chances. Imo the imperialists try to divide us any way they can. Also, I don’t consider myself a leftist per se but I am an anti-imperialist, I’m pro working class, and pro-inclusion. There are some of us who are religious who do not fit neatly into any particular left or right box.
Maupin himself said he did something wrong by mixing sex with politics. He has a right to continue doing what makes him happy by creating content, and he’s at least essentially taken accountability.
What he did was wrong. One should have the discernment not to mix work with sex, especially with vulnerable people who are working with us. My point, is I believe people make mistakes and should be give a second chance (in many scenarios—not all). There are some dealbreakers. I’m happy to support your work. You provide so much education to us about the true nature of western imperialism.
