The faux-left were always warmongers. Didn’t begin with Ukraine.

They are the same ones who have overseen mass inequality and mass incarceration and cuts to social support and education at home, while shovelling money at wars in the Balkans, Iraq, Somalia, West Africa, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Libya….you name it.

They were never left. Just because someone is OK with abortion and doesn’t hate people over their choice of sex partner, doesn’t not make them left. In Europe that just means you are center right: “petite boutgeouisie”

An anti-imperialist coalition with broad ideologies? While excluding the warmongering socdems and the anarchists who do whatever the CIA tells them, the only people around who show any kind of splashability with us are MAGA and the patsocs, but you know as well as I do what the implications are of working with MAGA. I think the patsocs (aside from infrared, so just Maupin) might be redeemable for specific projects like this. There's a lot of bad PR and bad experiences to do with and from interacting with them though so it might be a tough sell. Infrared is straight up reactionary but Maupin seems less crazy to me. His worst take is this christian socialism idea of his and his marcyism he portrays as Leninism. But seeing the anti-NATO nationalist trends within the center right and him at least being semi-literate at Marxism, I think it's better than MAGA which is just too pette bourgeois in my opinion. And Maupin has an obsession with the faux left of which many of the anarchists are members of due to their subservience to the CIA. And he is staunchly pro-Russia and anti-imperialist. It just makes sense to try and bring Maupin in on this even if kept at a distance.

I think you're right to toss aside the anarchists though. They're rooted in Rojava which is nothing but a faux left imperial project wrapped in feminism and anarchist rhetoric. They're too fanatical, Rojava is their USSR, no matter how bad it gets they'll back it to the end, and that's understandable but unfortunate. They're also very obviously deeply infiltrated by the CIA, which ordinarily could be countered but combining the Rojava thing in..The trots are and have always been with the anarchists, they're basically synonyms in the states. Almost all of the Marxist left started as socdems, I don't think they're all pointless. "Ancoms" too, the com is in there after all, what is an "ancom" if they won't read Lenin? An anarchist, not an "ancom".

I'm not asking you to be the one to make the suggestion assuming you even agree with it. I just wanted to bring it up because it kind of feels like an elephant in the room to me and you mentioned diverse ideologies. If nothing else, I hope it helped poke your brain a little.
