These people have nothing to offer but words. Fancy words, slogans that they (alone) find clever... All they have is words. The masses have largely rejected it. If you step outside of political commentary and into the masses, this bullshit is flagged real quick. Or at least it's rejected among people who either never identified as left or those who vote Democrat but now see the Democratic president start a genocide.
Sometimes I think of the ruling elite in a smoke-filled room, just laughing about the latest distraction they've inserted in our discourse. I don't think they're laughing as much these days. If they are, all the better. Let them think their words still work.
