There will be no progress on the ecological front until we can shift society's main focus away from militarism and imperial aggression.

The collapse of the former Soviet Union wasn't political - it was economic, and so will be the downfall of the United States as BRICS arises as the planet's leading economic force. It has has already surpassed the crumbling NATOstan alliance in both purchasing power parity and GDP, and will soon dominate militarily as well.

Once the faltering Almighty Dollar is no longer the world's reserve currency, the unpayable mountains of debt will catch the US out and cause the entire Western financial system to collapse - something already quite obviously now well in progress - at which point it will be in no way able to support it's massive military infrastructure or its all-consuming War Machine.

Marx alway said capitalism would ultimately defeat itself. He was correct - and now the rest of the world is rapidly shifting away from the dying West towards the rising Eastern sun and a new multipolar world order of many regional powers.

The US Imperial Empire is in its death throws, but like any mortally wounded animal, its last kicks are some of its most dangerous. The sooner the rabid US dies, the better off the entire world will be.

We just have to get through this very dangerous transition period to where we can start building a new world order based on cooperation and mutual assistance instead of militarism and domineering imperial aggression.

Then we can start greening the planet again in earnest - not before!
