The murder of Tyre Nichols, combined with the development of the vast law enforcement training program “Cop City,” has catalyzed a new wave of American mass unrest. The people see the evidence that their government is inhumane, and that it’s giving itself the tools to inflict even more violence. They’re mobilizing to revolt, in a repeat of the George Floyd uprising that has the potential to do something unprecedented: actually start off the sequence of events which end with the defeat of our militarized police state, and with the other components of the U.S. empire’s rule.
I think this is widely and exuberantly over-optimistic.
You have no left. You have multiple generations of reactionaries, indoctrinated at birth into the culture of paranoia, hatred and amoral endless search for money while having no soul.
It’s just not realistic to think they will suddenly wake up against an amorphous concept of an organization that actually has no domestic presence at home.
If you want a conscious left, it’s a 20-30-40 year project to fight the battle from stopping babies’ minds being polluted and rotted from birth onwards, on kids to, in daycare, kindergarten, schools, high schools, colleges.
Only then do you actually have a general with a substantial amount of non-bots in the electorate and around in society.
It’s a long fight.
